Doctor Rolando Fonseca, director of the Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales Honduras (FLASCO) recently published a paper on immigration trends in Honduras that suggested that the country will not have enough young people to replace the older generations by 2035.

This past Monday, the Nepali government announced a ban on TikTok, the video-sharing app that has accrued over 1 billion users globally. Officials pointed to the prevalent hate content on the app as the main justification for the ban.

On Wednesday, Nov. 15, US President Joe Biden hosted Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Filoli Estate in San Francisco for a four hour one-on-one discussion. The meeting comes amidst the backdrop of this year’s Asian-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit where leaders from twenty-one Asian-Pacific nations gather to discuss economic cooperation and trade integration.

The panel hosted by the Center for Strategic & International Studies discussed the statements made from the aforementioned military forum, as well as recent military developments in China’s People’s Liberation Army, otherwise known as the PLA, as per a recent report released by the United States Secretary of Defense.

On Nov. 12, the United States carried out two airstrikes in Syria, targeting a training facility near the city of Albu Kamal and a safe house near the city of Mayadeen. The US military said that the strikes were in retaliation for a series of over 50 rocket and drone attacks that left at least 56 US personnel with a “combination of traumatic brain injury and minor injuries.”

The Kenyan government evicted 700 indigenous people of the Ogiek tribe, from the Mau Forest Complex on Nov. 2. This move is a violation of the 2017 court ruling that was supposed to secure the Ogiek peoples’ right to live on the land.
