An Indian Supreme Court Bench, headed by Justice Hemant Gupta and Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia, has pronounced a split verdict on whether Muslim women have the right to wear hijabs inside classrooms.

Following two attacks on Ukraine, India’s spokesperson of the External Affairs Ministry, Arindam Bagchi, published a statement the next day addressing the situation: “India is deeply concerned at the escalation of the conflict in Ukraine, including targeting of infrastructure and deaths of civilians.”

Sri Lanka’s economy continues to face soaring inflation and a shortage of essential goods such as fuel, medicine, and food. Many Sri Lankans struggle to buy basic supplies given that prices have doubled or tripled in recent months.

These issues were instigated when Sri Lanka’s Parliament elected longtime politician Ranil Wickremesinghe as the nation’s new president through a secret ballot. Previously, Wickremesinghe served as prime minister to the former president Gotabaya Rajapaksa, who promptly fled the country as a result of months of protests demanding his resignation.

Sri Lanka burst onto the world news circuit this Sept., as its national inflation rates skyrocketed and the country was thrust into its most severe economic crisis since 1948. There wasn’t one reason for the collapse, rather a series of highly detrimental events and decisions that built into catastrophe over the past decade, including the often overlooked aspect of unstable Chinese Communist Party (CCP) investments.
